This is the gun. It is a simple design, which consists
of 4" x 4' chamber. This chamber is filled to the desired pressure.
When that pressure has been reached, the solenoid valve realeases it at
very fast rate. When the solenoid opens, the pressure from the chamber
forces whatever is in the barrell out. |

This is the dart that was made from 1 1/4" thin wall
PVC. The end cap was glued on. The other end of the dart was flaired
by dipping it in hot oil and forming it around a light bulb. Inside
the dart, there is 10 grams of flash powder rigged to a shock sensitive
trigger (thanks to Vince for coming up with that design). The dart
worked well as you can see from the video below. |
